Description: American Red Cross Military Hospital in Neuilly, France. Photos taken August 1918. 32 nursed and 8 doctors trained by the Sisters of Mercy from St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO volunteered to form a mobile unit there. It was the first of it’s kind to be operated by the US Government – for the purpose of giving emergency treatment to wounded soldiers in France.
